Our last day is a Sunday. Originally I planned for us to hear mass at St. John's in Masjid Jamek. However we were hesitant to take a taxi, we were afraid we'd get lost. So we decided to make use of the time left in our HoHo which would expire at 3:30pm. We checked out and then left our bags with the front office.
Lucky it was sunny this time. Our pictures are clearer than in my previous post.
Standing at the gates of Istana Negara.
More shots of the buildings and notable structures in KL.
Lunch was at Suria Mall which is located just below the Petronas Twin Towers. Cat tried out the Nasi Lemak, a local Malay set meal that normally consists of rice cooked with coconut milk, nuts with ikan bilis (dilis in Filipino), cucumber, and two dishes cooked the Malay way plus their signature chili (hot hot hot!). Cat chose beef and boiled egg as her set. Me being used to it ordered lasagne from another stall instead ; )
Nasi Lemak. My sister said it was super hot but she loves it! ha! |
After lunch we only had enough time to ride a few more stops in our Hoho and go down again at Bus stop 6 between the Pavillion and our hotel. We picked up our stuff from Capitol Hotel and walked to Berjaya Times Square. Our trip is at 530pm - eta SG? 1130pm!
It's a good thing my online friend Edlin who's been a great help in making our itinerary (thanks dear!) told me that its better to book ahead for a coach ride going back to Singapore. Otherwise we might need to extend another night! When we reached the Star Mart Express book just outside the Berjaya Times Square (and near the stairs for Imbi Station) -- there were a lot of passengers waiting for their turn to board their bus! At first we thought we were late so Cat sped to Starbucks for some take away muffins while i fell in line to verify our tickets.
Most of the buses were fully book. The Chinese New Year holiday was almost over and a lot of people were trying to make it back to Singapore because of work the following day.
The ride was long. There was heavy traffic in their expressways. It was really so bad that what should be a 6 hour trip turned into 8 hours! The pit stops were not so great too, since there were a lot of people travelling along the road it meant that a lot of people needs to use the toilets at the pit stops. To make it short pee - ing was not that convenient. So please beware!
The good thing on the hand is our Coach -- we had massage chairs to sit on! They were huge and really comfy. My sister even commented that how she wish buses going to Caticlan from Iloilo were like these.
At around 1am, we have reached Singapore. Our Malaysia trip finished! We were planning where to go next. :)
